Nathaniel Samson (19) achieved a personal best time raising funds for JAT doing the Edinburgh marathon on a very hot day in May.

Cycling in Mallorca

Two volunteers were due to undertake this cycle ride on October 1st however due to torrential rain the ride was deferred for just one day. Over £500 has been raised already by the intrepid cyclists who endured injury, exhaustion, nausea and a 5000ft mountain climb on the way to their triumphant success as darkness fell on Soller. See the photos below that track their mammoth feat.

All ready for the off, with 10.5 hours in the sadle ahead of them ....and an early injury

Half way up the 5000ft climb, and a well earned look at the view from the top

then a hair raising 18 miles down the mountain to a welcome shower at the Le Gran Hotel and congratulations from the official adjuticator. Cheers!

A 21km event

13 people and a loyal dog
On 15th November, 13 people and 1 loyal dog participated in our 21K Event throughout the area of JAT’s office. As with the census in the Bible where each of the men were told to bring half a shekel (a coin which did not exist) people found a partner with whom they completed the course by undertaking 10.5K each. Two ran and the others walked (at varying speeds) but all collected sponsorship money for their efforts. As it was Mitzvah day 7 volunteers donated their time to safely marshal those involved along the way. Most importantly – the weather was kind and the bagels were fresh.
