What is it?
A bacterial infection that can lead to serious health problems - chronic pain, infertility and, in women, pelvic inflammatory disease and ectopic pregnancy.
There are often no symptoms particularly in women. Men often experience pain when urinating or a penile discharge. It can be treated with antibiotics.
How can it be avoided?
