Hepatitis B and C

What is it?

An extremely serious and highly infectious virus, 100 times more infectious than HIV.  It is passed through the blood and other body fluids – often through unprotected intercourse or shared drug paraphernalia. It can even be transmitted through shared razors or toothbrushes, tattoo and piercing needles.
Hepatitis can lead to serious liver disease. Complicated treatments can be offered in some cases.

How can you avoid it?

  • abstinence
  • never share needles, razors or toothbrushes
  • correct use of condoms each and every time
